The Tennessee Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Foundation has selected the City of Oak Ridge Fire Department along with Anderson County EMS and UT LifeStar to receive the 2015 EMS Star of Life Award for Tennessee EMS Region II. This award will be presented during the 7th annual EMS Star of Life Awards Dinner and Ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee on May 14th, 2015.

The ceremony includes a presentation of the actual adult or pediatric patient scenarios and reunites the EMS caregivers with the individuals they treated. Recipients are chosen from each of the eight EMS regions in the state. This is the premier event that will kick off EMS week within the state to recognize and honor our excellent prehospital providers.

Members are being recognized for their efforts in responding to a bicycle accident on Bethel Valley Road on March 30, 2014.  The event required the teamwork and coordination of the Oak Ridge Fire Department, Anderson County EMS, and the University of Tennessee Lifestar Aeromedical team.  All of the responders from each agency will be recognized for their efforts at the EMS Star of Life Awards Dinner and Ceremony in May.  Those members are,
