On Monday, May 4th, the Main Library will reopen with new lighting fixtures and will resume regular service hours. All services will be available at the Main Desk and Reference Desk.

The Children’s Room will close on Monday, May 4th for the lighting renovation. Storytimes for Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th will be held in the Social Room at the Civic Center at 10:30 a.m. Limited Children’s Room services will be available in the library auditorium.

This renovation project is partially funded by the Clean Tennessee Energy Grant that was awarded to the City of Oak Ridge by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. Energy-efficient LED lights are replacing the forty+ year old original lights throughout the whole Library and will be brighter, easier to maintain, and less costly to operate.

The Main Library will be open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (closed Sundays from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend).

Library cards are free for Oak Ridge residents of all ages and provide free access to education and entertainment. Visit Oak Ridge Public Library at 1401 Oak Ridge Turnpike in the Civic Center. For more information visit our website at www.orpl.org or call (865) 425-3455.
