The Oak Ridge Senior Center in partnership with the UT Extension Office for Anderson County is offering a new session of Tai Chi for Diabetes beginning on October 2nd.  Tai Chi for Diabetes is specifically designed by Dr. Paul Lamb and is based on the Sun and Yang style Tai Chi.  This program is easy to learn, effective, and safe.

Tai Chi will help increase flexibility and muscle strength, increase heart and lung activity, align body posture, improve balance, and bring the mind and body together. The class is open to anyone 50 or older and is also good for people who don’t have diabetes as well as those who do.

The classes will be held on Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m. and Fridays at 10:00 a.m.   There is no cost for the class. Call the Senior Center at (865) 425-3999 to reserve a spot as space is limited.

Come out and enjoy this program and many others offered at the Oak Ridge Senior Center. Like us on Facebook, check our website at orrecparks.oakridgetn.gov, or call at (865) 425-3999 for more information.
