City of Oak Ridge Boards and Commissions are authorized by City Council. At present, there are 17 such boards and commissions in the City, but Council can create other boards as it deems necessary.

Oak Ridge residency is required for appointment to a City Board or Commission. The City holds a mid-year and end-of-year election for expiring terms of City Boards and Commissions. 

The information listed below highlights any current recruitment by the City to fill vacancies and expiring terms:

  • Convention and Visitors' Bureau (3 vacancies)
  • Environmental Quality Advisory Board (5 vacancies, including 2 youth vacancies)
  • Trade Licensing Board (2 vacancies)
  • Traffic Safety Advisory Board (1 youth vacancy)
