Come experience The Power of Public Works at the 3rd
Annual Public Works Community Open House, sponsored by Jacobs Engineering, in
recognition of National Public Works Week, May 19-25, 2019 #NPWW #OakRidgePW
The #PublicWorks Department is excited to offer this free community event for those that live and work in #OakRidge. Kids and adults alike will be able to get a behind the scenes look at how we serve the City in a fun, interactive, yet educational way. The Open House is designed to increase public awareness about the contributions of Public Works, as well as educating the community about the duties, practices, and goals of the department.
Interactive activity stations for kids of all ages.
Displays and demonstrations showing the methods, tools, and equipment used by the different divisions in the department.
Kids bicycle road course (bring bikes) - ride through a mini road course designed to look like a city street. East Tennessee Children's Hospital will be here handing out helmets for children 10 and under that participate in the road course.
Touch-the-Truck event features the types of trucks and heavy equipment we use to keep the City safe and running smoothly.
Our Public Works employees are everyday Super Heroes that work hard to keep our city running smoothly. In honor of them, we will have a Super Hero costume parade at 6:30pm.
There will be face painting, a bounce house, dunking booth, live music, food, and more. Entertainment under our shed will begin at 5:00pm with the amazing vocals of our very own Brandon Harmon and the costume parade will begin at 6:30pm.
We'd like to thank the following sponsors for their donations to the Open House:
