Everbridge Traffic, Weather & Safety Alerts

Sign Up For Everbridge Notifications

The City of Oak Ridge, Oak Ridge Fire Department (ORFD), and Oak Ridge Police Department (ORPD) have a new notification system named Everbridge to communicate with residents and businesses during emergencies and other critical events like severe weather, road closures, traffic incidents, or major power outages.

Everbridge has replaced the Oak Ridge Fire Department’s CodeRED emergency alert system and Oak Ridge Police Department’s Nixle traffic alerts. If you previously subscribed to either notification system, you need to sign up for Everbridge Alerts so you can continue to receive alerts from the City.

You must register by filling out the form below. Messages are sent to registered users on their preferred contact paths — cell phone, SMS, home phone and/or email, or push notification via the Everbridge app.

If someone lives outside the Oak Ridge City limits but works in the city, they can register their cell phone at the business address and receive notifications while at work.

While subscribing, you can prioritize the order of which you are contacted. When an alert comes in, you must reply YES to confirm you received the alert. If you ignore or miss the alert, it will continue to cycle down the list of methods to attempt to contact you until you either confirm or run out of contact methods.

You can also determine whether you wish to receive alerts on the following topics: Weather (NWS alerts), or City of Oak Ridge Alerts (City announcements, Traffic Alerts, and/or City Service & Utility Interruptions like major power outages or water main breaks).

If you have already subscribed and would like to edit your weather or City alert subscription preferences, you can log in to your Everbridge Account by selecting 'sign in' below.

  • Click “My Subscriptions” on the right to edit your alert preferences
  • Click the triangle next to the alert topic to see alert categories (City of Oak Ridge Alerts or Weather Alerts)
  • Click the triangle next to the category to see specific alerts/warnings
  • Check the box for each alert/warning you wish to receive

On the same screen, you can opt-in to “Quiet Time” for Weather Alerts and set your own hours. Click “Save” to save your new choices.

All registrants of the city's CodeRED system and Nixle program received a notification with Everbridge registration instructions.
