The mission of the Police Chaplain Corps is to aid Oak Ridge Police Officers in their mandated duties by providing an added resource for dealing with those calls more service than legal in nature.  The Chaplains assist officers with handling emotionally disturbed persons, comforting victims and their families when accidents occur or a serious criminal assault takes place, and may offer counseling or perform other ministerial functions as needed.

The Chaplains are not law enforcement officers and shall not assume that role.  The Chaplains' responsibility is to assist Police Officers when asked to do so.
